Christmas Gifts for the Cook

Gifts for the CookMake The Cooks Job a Little Easier or Their Day a Little Brighter

This year when you are buying Christmas gifts, don’t forget to purchase a special gift or gifts for the cook.  After all, they deserve a special treat.

In order for all of us to have a wonderful Christmas feast, someone has to spend hours in the kitchen preparing and cooking the food.

Sometimes the cook has assistants and sometimes they work alone.  Some families have several people who work together to make a memorable meal.  Some families assign specific courses for individuals to prepare in advance and bring with them to the dinner.

Either way, a lot of work goes into creating a fabulous family feast and there are several gifts that would make the chefs life a little easier or their day a little brighter.

Progressive International Chopper

This is one of my favorite tools in the kitchen when I am preparing a holiday feast.  It is so popular in my home that sometimes, I have to let me daughter, mother or even a sister in law play with it 🙂

I chop both the onion and the celery for my dressing in this chopper.  It really is ideal for chopping nuts, fruits, vegetables, chocolate, etc.   With a quick change of blades, it will dice, slice and chop fruits and veggies without the mess of a cutting board.

Press down on pusher lid and food is cut into the included measuring container.  There is also a built-in side blade which minimizes the need for pre-cutting.  Includes cleaning tool and storage box.  The entire unit is dishwasher safe!

Save the Cook a Few Concerns by Bringing a Fruit Basket for Between Meal Snacks – Any Extra Fruit Can Be Chopped Up for a Fruit Salad!
A Fruit Basket is the perfect gift for me. We always have family and friends visiting during the holidays.  Sometimes the cooking gets a bit overwhelming, especially when so many people stay with us for several days and need multiple meals.  A fruit basket allows anyone to grab a snack between meals without having to add work to the cooks day.

Christmas Aprons

My mother and I always protect our Christmas outfits by wearing an apron while we are preparing the holiday feast!  When dinner is served, we simply remove our aprons and we are dressed as nicely as anyone at our table.  When it is time to clean up and wash dishes, we grab our aprons and cover our holiday apparel.

Cooking Essentials Holiday Style

A Cook Can Never Get Too Many!  No matter how many hot pads or kitchen towels I own, there are never enough around when I am cooking the holiday feast for my family.

We use a multitude of pots, pans, bake ware, etc during the holidays and I need a hot pad for all of them.  I want my kitchen counters and my table to be protected.  I can also easily use 3 or 4 kitchen towels when I am preparing the holiday feast.  It seems like I am constantly washing and drying something.

Plus, there is never enough hand soap!

Really Fun Specialty Items for the Cook

Over the years, I have collected some really fun specialty items for the cook. These all hold a special meaning and bring a smile to my face each time I use them. While they may not be a Christmas theme, they are definitely fun gifts to give the cook for Christmas, or any time of the year.

The Fox oven mitt and the Plankton pot strainer were both gifts from my son. That fox still cracks me up! Every new guest that enters our home is greeted by the smiling fox that doubles as a hand puppet.

The smiley face spoon was a gift from my mother. It is my husbands favorite spoon in the house. I think it reminds him of the women in the kitchen laughing while they cook during the holidays.

A Very Special Treat for After the Cooking is Done

Essence of Luxury Spa Bath and Body Gift Basket
If your cook already has everything for their kitchen, then consider treating the cook to an after dinner moment of Rest and Relaxation!

Standing on our feet all day, or perhaps for several days, can get extremely tiring and can be rather hard on our bodies. It is really a wonderful treat to be able to slip into a warm water bath at the end of a long day.
