Father’s Day Gifts
Shopping List for Father’s Day
Top of my to do list: Buy Father’s Day gifts!
The month of June is definitely a party month for my family. In addition to multiple June birthdays, we also celebrate Father’s Day and there are several fathers on my gift list.
Long before the day, I make a list. I don’t want to forget the cake, the ice cream, the cards that must be mailed, the special wrapping paper, and certainly not the gifts.
Not only do I give a gift to my father and my father-in-law, I help my children find gifts for their Dad. Each of these men are very important to us, so we always try to find that “special” gift.
It is wonderful to have a day set aside each year to celebrate the gift of our fathers and believe me, I consider my own father to be one of the greatest gifts of my life.
I’ll share my list with you.
Perhaps it will help you choose Father’s Day gifts.
Just don’t tell our Dads!
Gifts for Dads Who Love the Outdoors & Nature
Dad loves animals and not just the ones in his own backyard. For my Dad, I will choose one of these items. Of course, if I can’t choose, I’ll just get them all. After all, I help my children pick out their gift to give him too!
For Dad’s who enjoy hiking, fishing, bird watching, or just nature in general, a wonderful pair of compact binoculars, a reliable flashlight and a backpack with stool would be the perfect father’s day gift set any guy would be delighted to receive.

Gift Ideas for My Father
A Tie with A Special Image
Check PriceMy dad has a lot of interests and hobbies, but he has a backyard full of wildlife that depend on him for their daily meals. All of the animals love him and each spring the momma’s bring their babies to his window to show them off. Some have become so comfortable with his presence that they won’t run away when he comes out to fill their bowls. He even has one Mockingbird that perches on the ledge outside his kitchen window, stares inside and fusses at him if there is not enough food to satisfy her.
Note: The little Chipmunk on the tie is actually one of Dad’s babies. His little baby sister is running around my father’s backyard too. They are so cute when they play together.
Gifts for My Father-in-Law
My father-in-law has retired into a life of travel and golf. He and his wife have been to more counties than I can remember. I have a picture of them in my den that was taken on one of their trips to Egypt. I have no idea how my mother-in-law managed to climb on that camel’s back!
There are so many gifts available for our world travelers, that it is fairly easy to find an appropriate gift. Again, choosing only one, is the hardest task.
Gifts for Fathers Who Travel
I tend to think security first, then carry-on, then necessities at our destination. Apparently, I am not alone. Most international travels either forget, or don’t realize that the outlets are different in other countries and require adapters. We used to have a bag of adapters we carried, but the all in one adapter featured below sure makes things easier. Just make sure you don’t leave it behind when you are checking out!

Recommendations for My Children to Give their Dad
Canon PowerShot ELPH 360 HS Digital Point and Shoot Camera (Black) Bundle with 32 GB Memory Card and More (Renewed)Check Price
This one is really easy!
My husband is always kind about whatever gift the children select to give him. He has even been known to pose for a picture sporting the boxer shorts they decorated for him with glue and glitter. I still laugh every time I see that picture!
Those types of gifts are irreplaceable and while I would never suggest that anyone substitute the homemade gifts for store bought gifts, I don’t foresee our grown children dragging out the glitter paints this year. Therefore, I will make a few suggestions.
Like his own father, my husband enjoys traveling. He also shares the love for animals with my father. While most people take pictures of beautiful architecture, scenic landscapes and museum displays, my husband also takes pictures of rabbits, dogs, deer, or any wildlife he encounters on his journeys.
For a man with so many interest, a compact camera that he can take everywhere is the perfect gift! Since photography is a hobby of mine, I own several cameras and I can speak from experience. The very best compact, lightweight, easy to use camera is the Canon PowerShot.

Our Men Cook!
There is nothing like a good, old fashioned cookout! Our true outdoors men can fire up the grill and compete with the world’s best chefs. They have even taught a few novice grillers some of their tricks.
In addition to grilling, my husband is certainly not the type to sit and wait for a meal to be served. Nope, he will jump right in and make dinner for all of us. Even in the snow, he can be seen firing up his grill to prepare a delicious meal.
Coffee Anyone?
All of the fathers enjoy a good cup of coffee. I think we will treat them each to a new coffee mug!

All of Our Men Like to Read
Complete Sherlock Holmes, The (Barnes & Noble Leatherbound Classics) (Barnes & Noble Leatherbound Classic Collection) by Arthur Conan Doyle (21-Jun-2011) Leather BoundCheck PriceBooks Make Great Gifts!
The guys always have a book to read. Whenever we travel, our suitcases require wheels to help save our backs. I think the men would leave behind their clothes before they would relinquish a book. The luggage is even heavier on the trip home because, regardless of our destination, their favorite place to tour is the bookstore.
I will never forget our trip to Scotland. They found a quaint little bookstore around the corner from our hotel where they spent all of their souvenir money. We had to purchase extra tote bags to carry the books home.
Or, Perhaps a Kindle for the Avid Reader!
Our daughter purchased a Kindle for her Dad for Father’s Day a few years ago and he loves it! It is indeed much easier on our backs when we travel.
